Terroir

This Vieilles Vignes cuvée is produced in extremely limited quantities from a single 44-are plot, planted in the 1920s by Vincent Dureuil’s grandfather. Located in the Le Meix Cadot Premier Cru vineyard in Rully, in the Côte Chalonnaise, these historic Chardonnay vines root deeply into limestone-rich clay-limestone soils, drawing character and energy from the depth of the subsoil. Naturally low yields ensure remarkable concentration and mineral intensity. The Burgundy climate, marked by warm days and cool nights, allows for slow, balanced ripening. Crafted by Domaine Vincent Dureuil-Janthial with meticulous vineyard work and minimal-intervention winemaking, this wine is a faithful and sincere expression of its exceptional terroir.

Tasting Notes

Appearance & Nose:
Bright pale gold color. The nose is precise and elegant, revealing aromas of white flowers, lemon zest, ripe pear, and yellow apple, layered with notes of hazelnut, fresh almond, subtle smoky nuances, and a pronounced chalky minerality.

Palate & Finish:
The palate is linear, tense, and deeply expressive, combining concentration with finesse. It draws its identity from the depth of the soil, delivering a structured yet refined texture supported by vibrant acidity and a persistent mineral core. The finish is long, saline, and elegant, revealing excellent aging potential.
