Chambertin Clos de Bèze Grand Cru — The Timeless Nobility of Gevrey
A true jewel of the Côte de Nuits, Chambertin Clos de Bèze Grand Cru is one of Burgundy’s oldest and most prestigious wines. Nestled in the heart of Gevrey-Chambertin’s Grand Cru slopes, it embodies a perfect harmony of power, silkiness and remarkable length.
A Terroir of Balance and Depth
Founded in the 7th century by the monks of the Abbey of Bèze, this legendary vineyard spans 15 ha 38 a 87 ca on gentle slopes facing east, benefiting from perfect exposure and natural drainage. The brown limestone and marl soils rest on a well-drained rocky subsoil at an altitude of 260–300 meters. This combination gives rise to wines of great depth, finesse, and remarkable balance.
Style & Character
Chambertin Clos de Bèze reveals an intense bouquet of black cherry, raspberry, blackcurrant, and violet, lifted by notes of sweet spices, licorice, and precious wood. With age, it develops layers of truffle, leather, forest floor, cocoa, and blond tobacco. On the palate, the texture is dense and velvety, supported by fine, persistent tannins and a remarkably long finish.
