Saumur

The Saumur appellation is located in the Loire Valley, at the heart of the Anjou wine region in France. It is renowned for the diversity and quality of its wines, which include whites, reds, rosés, and sparkling wines.

Characteristics of Saumur wines:

• White wines: Primarily made from the Chenin Blanc grape, these wines are appreciated for their freshness, aromatic complexity, and aging potential. They offer aromas of white-fleshed fruits, white flowers, and sometimes mineral notes.

• Red wines: Mainly derived from Cabernet Franc, these wines stand out for their elegance, finesse, and depth. They present aromas of red fruits and soft tannins, with a beautiful structure.

• Sparkling wines: Under the Saumur Brut appellation, these sparkling wines are made using the traditional method, offering fine bubbles and great freshness. They are often based on Chenin Blanc but may also include Cabernet Franc.
