Terroir

This Vieilles Vignes cuvée is produced in extremely limited quantities from a single 44-are plot, planted in the 1920s by Vincent Dureuil’s grandfather. Located in the Le Meix Cadot Premier Cru vineyard in Rully, in the Côte Chalonnaise, these historic Chardonnay vines root deeply into limestone-rich clay-limestone soils. Naturally low yields result in remarkable concentration and mineral intensity. The Burgundy climate, with its alternation of warm days and cool nights, ensures slow, balanced ripening. Crafted by Domaine Vincent Dureuil-Janthial with meticulous vineyard work and minimal-intervention winemaking, this wine offers a pure, sincere, and profound expression of its terroir.

Tasting Notes

Appearance & Nose:
Bright pale gold color. The nose is deep and precise, revealing aromas of white flowers, ripe citrus, pear, and yellow apple, layered with notes of hazelnut, fresh almond, subtle smoky nuances, and a pronounced chalky minerality.

Palate & Finish:
The palate is linear and tense, with great depth and noble structure, drawing its character from the depth of the soil. The texture is both dense and elegant, supported by precise acidity and a persistent mineral framework. The finish is long, saline, and refined, revealing outstanding aging potential.
