Terroir & Philosophy
The vineyards of Weingut Obrecht stretch across the well-exposed slopes of Jenins and Malans. Limestone and schist soils, combined with an Alpine-Mediterranean microclimate and strong diurnal temperature shifts, produce wines of remarkable freshness and pure aromatic expression.
Certified Demeter, the domaine is fully biodynamic: committed to living soils, low yields, and gentle vinification that expresses the character of each parcel.
Grape Varieties & Winemaking
- Pinot Noir — the estate’s flagship grape, crafted with precision and aged with care.
- Chardonnay — structured, mineral-driven white wines.
- Riesling-Sylvaner — crisp, linear, and delicately pure wines.
Some parcels are more than 50 years old. This heritage, combined with artisanal winemaking, gives the wines exceptional depth and excellent ageing potential.
Signature Cuvées
- Pinot Noir Monolith — the flagship wine, rated 95 pts by Falstaff (vintage 2022).
- Chardonnay Obrecht — elegant, precise, and mineral.
- Riesling-Sylvaner Schiefer — a pure expression of schist terroir.
Each cuvée reflects the distinctive character of the Bündner Herrschaft, combining finesse, energy, and Swiss identity.
