Domaine Jamet – Côte-Rôtie Côte Brune 2022
A benchmark Côte-Rôtie from the legendary Jamet family, expressing the depth and power of Côte Brune through a refined structure, smoky minerality, and remarkable aging potential.
Terroir & Winemaking
Domaine Jamet, led by the Jamet family in Ampuis, is one of the most respected producers in Côte-Rôtie. The Côte Brune sector is renowned for its steep, terraced vineyards with soils of iron-rich schist, mica, and clay, which impart structure, depth, and a distinctive smoky, mineral character to the wines.
The wine is crafted primarily from Syrah, sometimes co-fermented with a small proportion of Viognier, following the traditional practice of the appellation. Fermentation includes partial whole clusters to enhance aromatic complexity and structure. Aging takes place in oak barrels, balancing finesse and integration while preserving the purity of fruit. The 2022 vintage, warm yet balanced in the Northern Rhône, offers ripe tannins, concentration, and impressive harmony.
