Champagne “La Cocluette” Oiry Grand Cru 2018 – Suenen
A chiselled and vibrant Blanc de Blancs, revealing the pure chalky finesse of the Côte des Blancs
Terroir
The cuvée La Cocluette comes from parcels located in Oiry, classified Grand Cru, in the heart of the Côte des Blancs. The Chardonnay vines are rooted in soils of pure chalk, giving the wine a remarkable mineral tension and crystalline aromatic precision. Organic viticulture and parcel-by-parcel vinification by Suenen allow for a pure, energetic, and elegant expression of this exceptional terroir.
Tasting Notes
Nose / Aromatics:
The nose is fine and precise, offering aromas of lemon, green apple, and pear, complemented by floral notes, hints of flint, and a delicate chalky minerality.
Palate / Structure:
On the palate, the champagne is taut and chiselled, driven by a vibrant acidity and a fine, elegant mousse. The fruit is pure and luminous, supported by a chalky mineral backbone that brings precision and length. The texture is linear, saline, and beautifully pure.
Finish:
The finish is long and refreshing, marked by citrus fruit, a persistent chalky salinity, and a bright mineral energy that defines great Blanc de Blancs from the Côte des Blancs.
