Cheval des Andes 2017 – Mendoza

An iconic Andes wine: Bordeaux elegance meets Argentine intensity

Terroir

Born from the collaboration between Château Cheval Blanc and Terrazas de los Andes, Cheval des Andes is sourced from high-altitude vineyards in Mendoza, planted on alluvial soils composed of gravel, sand, and clay. The combination of altitude, intense sunlight, and cool Andean nights ensures slow, even ripening and outstanding aromatic precision. The 2017 vintage, fresh and balanced, highlights finesse, structure, and a refined expression of both Malbec and Cabernet Sauvignon.

Tasting Notes

Nose:
Elegant and complex aromas of blackcurrant, black cherry, and violet, layered with notes of graphite, spice, cedar, and subtle hints of herbs.

Palate & Finish:
The palate is structured yet silky, with finely grained tannins and remarkable balance. The wine combines depth and freshness, delivering precision and length without excess. The long, refined finish lingers on dark fruit, spice, and a distinctive mineral touch. A world-class wine, elegant, powerful, and built for long ageing.
