Château Sociando-Mallet 2007
A classic Haut-Médoc: freshness, structure and Médoc elegance
Terroir
Château Sociando-Mallet is one of the most respected estates in the Haut-Médoc. Located in Saint-Seurin-de-Cadourne, facing the Gironde estuary, the property benefits from gravel soils over a clay-limestone subsoil, producing structured, deep wines with natural freshness.
The 2007 vintage now offers a more classical, fresh and accessible expression of Sociando-Mallet. Less solar than the great long-ageing years, it stands out for its balance, precision and traditional Médoc profile. This is an appealing bottle for lovers of mature Bordeaux, favouring finesse, cedar and tertiary nuances over sheer fruit power.
Tasting notes
Nose:
The bouquet may reveal notes of evolved blackcurrant, black cherry, cedar, blond tobacco, fine leather, undergrowth and gentle spices. The whole expression is restrained, classical and marked by the fresh signature of the Haut-Médoc.
Palate & Finish:
The palate is straight, supple and balanced, with tannins now softened and an elegant structure. The finish lingers on cedar, evolved dark fruit, tobacco and a slightly earthy touch, offering a classic and mature expression of Sociando-Mallet.
