Château Mouton Rothschild 2006 — Pauillac
This Château Mouton Rothschild 2006 embodies a classical, deep and structured expression of Pauillac. As one of Bordeaux’s emblematic First Growths, Mouton Rothschild delivers in this serious, cellar-worthy vintage a wine of great stature, shaped by the nobility of Cabernet Sauvignon, the freshness of the year and the gravelly signature of its terroir.
The 2006 vintage offers a refined profile led by blackcurrant, blackberry, dark cherry, graphite, cedar, tobacco, cigar box, liquorice, cocoa, fine leather and spice. The palate is dense, focused and persistent, with a tannic structure still clearly present, fine freshness and a long mineral finish. It is a Mouton of patience, classicism and long ageing potential.
Terroir: Pauillac, deep gravel soils and the grandeur of Cabernet Sauvignon
The vineyard of Château Mouton Rothschild lies on the great gravel rises of Pauillac, in the northern Médoc. These poor, well-draining, stony soils encourage deep vine rooting, natural concentration and the slow ripening of Cabernet Sauvignon. In the 2006 vintage, this identity is expressed through a dark, tense, spicy and mineral wine, still built on a serious tannic frame.

Expression of the 2006 vintage
The 2006 vintage in Bordeaux produced structured, fresh and serious wines, with a strong tannic imprint and excellent ageing capacity in the finest Médoc terroirs. At Mouton Rothschild, the year gave a wine of classicism, tension and depth, less opulent than some neighbouring great vintages, yet marked by noble structure and remarkable persistence.
In summary: a deep, classical and structured Château Mouton Rothschild 2006, shaped by the gravel soils of Pauillac, the nobility of Cabernet Sauvignon and significant ageing potential.
Food pairing: rack of lamb, rib of beef, beef fillet, roast duck, game, black truffle, porcini mushrooms, aged cheeses or classic Médoc-inspired cuisine.
