Trousseau 2023 – Domaine des Marnes Blanches
A pure and vibrant expression of Jura Trousseau, combining finesse, freshness, and terroir identity
Terroir
Domaine des Marnes Blanches, run by Pauline and Géraud Fromont, is located in the heart of the Jura, on emblematic soils of white marl rich in limestone. The Trousseau vines are farmed organically on marl-rich soils, encouraging a delicate, fresh, and precise expression of the grape variety. The Jura’s continental climate allows for slow, even ripening, preserving natural balance and a distinctive mineral tension in the wines.
Tasting Notes
Nose / Aromatics:
The nose is expressive and refined, revealing aromas of crunchy red berries, wild strawberry, and cherry, complemented by subtle spice notes, hints of white pepper, and a delicate smoky touch.
Palate / Structure:
On the palate, the wine is light to medium-bodied, driven by lively acidity and fine, supple tannins. The fruit is pure and juicy, supported by a delicate mineral thread that brings freshness and precision. The overall impression is airy, digestible, and beautifully balanced.
Finish:
The finish is fresh and persistent, marked by red fruit, gentle spice notes, and a chalky minerality, an elegant signature of great Jura wines.
