A Champagne of great refinement, the 1986 Comtes delivers a complex bouquet of honey, caramel, candied citrus, and brioche. The palate is still vibrant, with fresh citrus acidity, silky texture, and layered flavors of baked apple, grapefruit, and marzipan, leading to a long, mineral-driven finish.
Despite its age, it retains remarkable energy and finesse, closing on lingering notes of toasted brioche and hazelnut. At its peak, yet still glorious today.
