Nose
Ripe citrus and yellow stone fruit; hints of light smoke/flint; wildflowers/lilac; sometimes exotic tones (candied citrus).
Palate
Concentrated yet precise; glossy/supple texture balanced by flinty, saline minerality; bitter-lemon/apricot/quince notes; long, mineral finish. Houses/merchants describe 2023 as generous but not harsh, with notable grace and tension.
Style cues for Monts Damnés
Historically the most mineral/restrained of Cotat’s range; in warmer modern vintages it can show more breadth and power while keeping that stony core.
