This cuvée is often seen as one of Cotat’s more powerful expressions, more “flamboyant” than some of his others, yet still aligned with his graceful, terroir-driven style.
Nose / Aromas
Orchard fruits (pear, apple skin) and ripe citrus.
Hints of honey, fennel, and exotic touches over the citrus base
White flowers, subtle smoke, stone/damp rock aromas. (Merchants list “stone,” “smoky” touches)
Palate / Structure
Amply flavored yet maintaining tension.
Texture with weight and density but underlain by fine acidity.
Flinty/mineral backbone, “flint-inflected finish.”
Finish is persistent, mineral, with citrus and stone echoes.
