FUTO Estate Cabernet Sauvignon Blend 2009 — Oakville
The FUTO Estate 2009 is one of the great contemporary red wines of Oakville, in the heart of Napa Valley. Dominated by Cabernet Sauvignon, it expresses California’s solar power with textural precision, aromatic depth and mineral energy.
The 2009 vintage delivers a dark, rich and now beautifully evolved wine, while retaining serious structure. Blackcurrant, blackberry, blueberry, cedar, sweet coffee, liquorice, incense, tobacco and floral notes shape a broad, sensual and persistent profile, with a long and still fresh finish.
Terroir and blend
FUTO Estate is located in Oakville, one of Napa Valley’s most prestigious areas for great Cabernet Sauvignon. The estate works low-yielding hillside parcels capable of producing wines that are powerful, textured and highly precise.
The 2009 blend is composed of 77% Cabernet Sauvignon, 17% Cabernet Franc and 6% Petit Verdot. Cabernet Sauvignon brings cassis intensity, structure and depth, while Cabernet Franc adds floral lift and Petit Verdot reinforces colour, spice and tannic tension.
