This Ruchottes-Chambertin Grand Cru Clos des Ruchottes 2023 from Domaine Armand Rousseau embodies one of the finest, most ethereal and mineral expressions of Gevrey-Chambertin. Less massive than Chambertin or Clos de Bèze, this grand cru seduces through its verticality, floral brightness, fruit precision and the discreet nobility that defines the great Pinot Noirs of the Côte de Nuits.

Located on the upper slopes of Gevrey-Chambertin, Ruchottes-Chambertin Grand Cru produces wines of great distinction, often marked by freshness, limestone tension and an expression that is more chiselled than demonstrative. At Armand Rousseau, the Clos des Ruchottes reveals Pinot Noir of remarkable purity, carried by fine-grained texture, fruit clarity and a depth that builds with time.
The 2023 vintage brings generous ripeness, yet the wine retains the drive, freshness and precision that define the personality of the cru. The overall impression is luminous, floral and beautifully balanced, with fine structure, vibrant energy and a long finish marked by red fruit, delicate spice and salinity.
Tasting notes
Appearance: deep and luminous ruby red, brilliant, with delicate and refined intensity.
Nose: precise and elegant, with raspberry, red cherry, morello cherry, fresh rose, peony, fine spices and a touch of orange peel. With aeration, nuances of cool stone, black tea, fine earth and delicate undergrowth appear with great restraint.
Palate: pure, silky and almost weightless, with crystalline red fruit, melting tannins and racy acidity that lengthens the wine. The finish is long, saline and subtly spicy, carried by a sensation of finesse, balance and great elegance.
