Châteauneuf-du-Pape “Hommage à Jacques Perrin” 2012 — Château de Beaucastel
The Châteauneuf-du-Pape “Hommage à Jacques Perrin” 2012 from Château de Beaucastel is one of the rarest and most emblematic cuvées in the Rhône Valley. Presented here in magnum 1.5 L with original wooden case, this great red wine expresses the depth of Beaucastel’s oldest vines in a powerful, noble and remarkably age-worthy style.
Led by Mourvèdre and completed by the traditional grape varieties of the appellation, this cuvée stands out for its aromatic intensity, imposing structure and balance. The 2012 vintage offers an ample, relatively fresh expression for Châteauneuf-du-Pape, already complex yet still destined for long evolution.
A legendary cuvée from Beaucastel’s oldest vines
“Hommage à Jacques Perrin” is the flagship cuvée of Château de Beaucastel, produced only in the most favourable vintages. It pays tribute to Jacques Perrin, a key figure in the history of the estate and in its early commitment to viticulture that respects the life of the soils.
The parcels are planted on the emblematic galets roulés of Châteauneuf-du-Pape, combined with deep clay soils that help preserve the vine’s water balance. The vineyard is farmed biodynamically, with a demanding approach that highlights grape maturity, soil vitality and the Mediterranean identity of the terroir.
Tasting notes
Appearance: deep and dense, with garnet reflections, suggesting a wine of great concentration and maturity.
Nose: complex and intense, with blackberry, cassis, black cherry, spices, garrigue and undergrowth. With aeration, notes of leather, truffle, liquorice, graphite and subtle smoke emerge.
Palate: broad, deep and structured, carried by dense yet fully integrated tannins. The texture is powerful, harmonious and persistent, with a long, spicy, elegant finish that still promises significant ageing potential.

2012 vintage and ageing potential
