Domaine de Trévallon — A Cult Wine of Provence

A Legend Born in the Alpilles

Founded in 1973 by Éloi Dürrbach in Saint-Étienne-du-Grès, Domaine de Trévallon has become one of the most iconic estates in Provence. Nestled at the foot of the Alpilles, the domaine built its reputation on a bold and visionary idea: crafting ageworthy, expressive wines that transcend appellation boundaries.

A Unique Red Blend: Syrah & Cabernet Sauvignon

The estate’s red wine is made from an unconventional 50/50 blend of Syrah and Cabernet Sauvignon, a signature style that has defined Trévallon since its creation. Syrah brings depth, spice, and warmth, while Cabernet Sauvignon adds structure and freshness.

  • Annual production: approx. 45,000 bottles.

  • Style: powerful, structured, yet remarkably balanced and elegant.

  • Most sought-after vintages: 1990, 2001, 2010, 2013, 2015, 2016, 2019.

Trévallon Blanc: Finesse and Rarity

Produced in very limited quantities, Trévallon Blanc is a refined blend of Marsanne and Roussanne, complemented by Chardonnay and Grenache Blanc.

  • Annual production: approx. 6,000–7,000 bottles.

  • Profile: crystalline, vibrant, mineral-driven with superb aging potential.

  • Most sought-after vintages: 2007, 2010, 2013, 2015, 2019.

A Signature Label by René Dürrbach

Every bottle carries a label designed by René Dürrbach, a renowned artist and the founder’s father. These distinctive works of art have become collectors’ items in their own right, adding cultural value to each vintage.

Artisanal, Organic Winemaking

Domaine de Trévallon has practiced organic viticulture from the very beginning, using no herbicides or pesticides. Winemaking is entirely traditional:

  • Whole-cluster fermentation,

  • Indigenous yeasts,

  • No additives,

  • Long aging in large oak foudres.

This artisanal approach yields wines that are pure, vibrant, and deeply expressive of their limestone terroir.
