Domaine Etienne Sauzet — The Pinnacle of Chardonnay in Côte de Beaune
Located in the heart of Puligny-Montrachet, Domaine Etienne Sauzet has embodied the essence of great white Burgundy for over a century. Built on a long-standing family tradition, the estate is now managed with passion and precision, aiming to express the purest identity of each terroir.
A Remarkable and Extensive Vineyard
The estate spans approximately 14 hectares, planted exclusively with Chardonnay, from Puligny village parcels to some of the most prestigious Premier and Grand Crus. Each parcel is farmed with great care to preserve the wines’ mineral purity and balance.
- Premier Crus: Folatières, Les Perrières, Champ Canet
- Grands Crus: Montrachet, Chevalier-Montrachet, Bienvenues-Bâtard-Montrachet
Sustainable Viticulture & Rigorous Harvesting
Vineyard management relies on sustainable practices: light soil work, controlled cover crops, and limited treatments. Harvesting is entirely manual with strict sorting to ensure the highest quality fruit reaches the cellar.
Traditional Winemaking & Gentle Aging
The wines are fermented in temperature-controlled stainless steel vats, then aged for 12 to 16 months with a moderate proportion of new oak. This approach enhances texture and complexity while preserving the aromatic purity of the Chardonnay.
Signature Style: Purity, Finesse and Mineral Elegance
Domaine Etienne Sauzet’s wines are defined by their crystalline aromatic expression — citrus, white flowers, yellow fruits — supported by refined salinity and vibrant tension. The texture is silky, the oak use subtle, and the finish long and precise. These are wines of great elegance with remarkable aging potential.
