Puligny Montrachet "les combettes" 2016 - E. Sauzet (coffret, magnum, 1.5 l)

Dry white wine made from Chardonnay, grown in the "Les Combettes" Premier Cru vineyard, located on the border of Meursault, on deep clay and limestone soils. The 2016 vintage was marked by low yields but excellent grape ripeness, following a difficult spring and a beautiful late season. Bright pale gold color. Clean and precise nose with aromas of white flowers (acacia, hawthorn), fresh pear, citrus zest, flint, damp chalk, hazelnut, and a subtle toastiness. The palate is taut, chiselled, and linear, with a fine, well-integrated texture. Remarkable balance between discreet richness and vibrant acidity. The finish lingers on notes of ripe lemon, fresh almond, warm stone, and a long, saline aftertaste.
