Terroir
Domaine Georges Mugneret-Gibourg works several parcels within the village appellation of Vosne-Romanée, at the heart of the Côte de Nuits. The clay-limestone soils of the appellation give Pinot Noir a perfumed, textured and finely drawn expression. In Vosne-Romanée, the wines are defined less by power than by the delicacy of their texture, their spicy complexity, floral depth and natural balance between fruit ripeness and structural freshness.

Expert reviews

89–91/100 – Neal Martin, Vinous: the review points to an airy bouquet of raspberry, wild strawberry, dark fruits, iris and violet, followed by a medium-bodied palate marked by black cherry, tobacco, white pepper and an open, elegant and charming finish.
89–91/100 – William Kelley, Robert Parker’s Wine Advocate: the wine is described with aromas of sweet cherry, smoke, incense, vanilla and spice, followed by a supple, fleshy palate framed by fine tannins and an appealing core of fruit.
Expression of the vintage
The 2023 vintage gives this Vosne-Romanée a generous, perfumed and immediately seductive expression, without losing the distinction that defines the estate. The fruit is ripe, open and very pure, while the structure remains supple and elegant. The wine can already charm through its balance and texture, yet it will gain complexity after a few years in the cellar, developing more floral, spicy, smoky and delicately earthy nuances.
In summary: a rare and highly sought-after village Vosne-Romanée from Domaine Georges Mugneret-Gibourg, rated up to 92–94/100 by Jasper Morris MW. A sensual, refined and deeply Vosne-driven Pinot Noir, combining pure fruit, silky texture, fine spices and great elegance.
Food pairings: roast poultry, pigeon, veal fillet, duck with gentle spices, mushroom risotto, truffle-based cuisine, jambon persillé, mature soft cheeses or delicate dishes built around root vegetables.
