This Tua Rita Redigaffi 2019 belongs among Tuscany’s cult wines. Produced in Suvereto, on the Tuscan coast, it embodies a masterful expression of Italian Merlot: deep, sensual, dense and beautifully polished, with remarkable aromatic intensity and the precision that defines the estate’s finest vintages.
A vintage of great harmony, 2019 gives Redigaffi a rare combination of power, freshness and refinement. The wine brings together ripe dark fruits, violet, black truffle, chocolate, noble spices and silky tannins, in a style that is both opulent and perfectly controlled.
Terroir: Suvereto, Tuscan Merlot and Mediterranean precision
Redigaffi comes from Merlot vines planted at the heart of the Tua Rita estate, in a gently sloping area of Suvereto. The soils, marked by clay, stones and a strong Mediterranean influence, give the wine its natural richness, depth of fruit and enveloping texture.
The wine is aged for 18 to 20 months in new French oak barrels, followed by further bottle ageing. This precise vinification supports the density of Merlot without making the wine heavy, allowing a beautiful balance between flesh, fruit brightness, tannic structure and mineral length.
Tasting notes
Appearance: very deep ruby red, almost opaque, with violet reflections and a brightness that conveys concentration, youth and great density of substance.
Nose: intense and luxurious, with blackberry, black plum, black cherry, cassis, violet, black truffle, cocoa, orange chocolate, liquorice, blond tobacco, sweet spices, mocha and a touch of warm earth. With aeration, nuances of muscovado, incense, Mediterranean herbs and noble wood may appear.
Palate: ample, velvety and seductive, with deep dark fruit, firm yet silky tannins and a caressing texture. The power remains perfectly held by the freshness and precision of the vintage. The finish is very long, polished, spicy and persistent, leaving an impression of depth and complete mastery.

Less demonstrative than a very solar vintage, yet deeper and more harmonious, it expresses Merlot with rare nobility, between Tuscan opulence, grand wine texture and very pure aromatic definition.
