Terroir

Château Canon occupies one of the finest terroirs on the limestone plateau of Saint-Émilion. Its limestone and clay-limestone soils bring natural freshness, refined texture and the mineral tension that defines the greatest wines of the appellation.

The 2015 vintage is a major success for Château Canon. Generous, luminous and beautifully balanced, it combines ripe fruit with the finesse of limestone terroir. Merlot provides breadth and velvet texture, while Cabernet Franc adds freshness, precision and aromatic complexity.

Tasting notes

Nose:
The bouquet opens with notes of black cherry, blackberry, plum, violet and liquorice, complemented by nuances of graphite, gentle spices and wet stone. The whole expression is marked by purity and refinement.

Palate & Finish:
The palate is silky, deep and harmonious, with dense yet perfectly controlled substance. Fine tannins and limestone freshness bring length, while the finish lingers on dark fruit, spice, violet and elegant minerality.
