Domaine des Tours Vin de Pays de Vaucluse Rouge 2022 belongs to the singular world of Emmanuel Reynaud, owner of Château Rayas, Château de Fonsalette and Château des Tours. This Vaucluse country wine offers a rare entry into a highly recognisable style: bright fruit, supple texture, gentle extraction and aromatic depth without heaviness.
Made from a blend of Mediterranean and Rhône grape varieties, including Grenache, Counoise, Syrah, Cinsault, Merlot and other varieties, the 2022 vintage favours finesse over demonstration. It stands out for its ripe red fruit, blood orange, soft spices and garrigue notes, with a silky, digestible palate deeply faithful to the Reynaud signature.
Terroir
Domaine des Tours is located in Sarrians, in the Vaucluse, on Mediterranean terroirs shaped by intense light, the mistral and soils combining clay-limestone components, sand and rounded stones. This origin gives sun-kissed yet rarely heavy red wines, driven by perfumed expression and measured extraction. The Vin de Pays de Vaucluse designation allows Emmanuel Reynaud to work freely with the blend, seeking above all balance, drinkability and the aromatic identity of the estate.
Tasting notes
Appearance: luminous ruby red, relatively pale for a Southern Rhône wine, with a transparency that reflects the estate’s delicate extraction.
Nose: aromas of ripe strawberry, red cherry, raspberry, fresh plum and blood orange, followed by notes of soft pepper, liquorice, dried herbs, garrigue and a fine floral nuance.
Palate: supple, silky and highly approachable in texture, with melted tannins, generous red fruit and a discreet freshness that lengthens the wine. The finish remains savoury, spicy and lightly herbal, with the fluidity and natural ease that define Emmanuel Reynaud’s wines.
Expression of the vintage
The 2022 vintage gives Domaine des Tours Rouge a ripe, sunny and generous expression, without tipping into excess. The fruit is immediate, the palate remains round and fluid, and the whole wine retains fine aromatic freshness. It can be enjoyed now after a short period of aeration, while also gaining complexity over the next few years, with softer notes of undergrowth, spice, orange peel and Provençal herbs gradually emerging.
In summary: a rare and highly sought-after red wine from the Vaucluse, signed by Emmanuel Reynaud, in a perfumed, supple and luminous style. A cuvée offering a more accessible expression of the Rayas universe, while preserving its singular, airy and deeply gastronomic character.
