Château Prieuré-Lichine 2000
A classic mature Margaux: finesse, balance and Médoc charm
Terroir
Château Prieuré-Lichine, a Classified Growth of Margaux, benefits from a vineyard spread across several fine sectors of the appellation. Its gravel soils, typical of the Médoc, favour Cabernet Sauvignon, bringing structure, freshness and elegance, while Merlot contributes roundness and suppleness.
The 2000 vintage, highly sought after in Bordeaux, now offers a wine at an attractive stage of maturity. It combines fruit depth with harmonious tertiary evolution, in a classic, balanced and accessible style that reflects the refined charm of Margaux wines.
Tasting notes
Nose:
The bouquet may reveal notes of ripe blackcurrant, black cherry, plum, cedar, blond tobacco, undergrowth and gentle spices. Bottle age brings discreet complexity while preserving the aromatic finesse typical of the appellation.
Palate & Finish:
The palate is supple, balanced and elegant, with melted tannins and a texture softened by time. The finish lingers on evolved dark fruit, cedar, spice and a delicate floral touch, offering a mature and harmonious expression of classic Margaux.
