Granato 2020 – Foradori
An iconic alpine red of depth and purity, expressing the noble strength of Teroldego
Terroir
Granato is produced from the finest old-vine Teroldego grown in the Campo Rotaliano, a unique alluvial plain at the foot of the Dolomites in Trentino. The vineyards rest on deep soils of gravel, sand, and limestone, deposited over centuries by the Adige and Noce rivers. This exceptional terroir, combined with a cool alpine climate and biodynamic viticulture, gives rise to wines of remarkable concentration, vibrant acidity, and pronounced mineral tension, showcasing Teroldego at its most profound and age-worthy expression.
Tasting Notes
Nose / Aromatics:
The nose is intense and layered, revealing aromas of black cherry, blackberry, and pomegranate, interwoven with herbal notes, hints of licorice, and a distinct stony minerality. The bouquet is deep, precise, and elegantly restrained.
Palate / Structure:
On the palate, the wine is full-bodied yet remarkably fresh, with firm, finely grained tannins. Dark fruit intensity is balanced by a lively acidity and a strong mineral backbone, delivering both power and clarity. The texture is compact, focused, and beautifully persistent.
Finish:
The finish is long and resonant, marked by dark fruit, subtle earthy and savory notes, and a lasting rocky, saline character, underscoring the wine’s alpine origin and exceptional aging potential.
