Château La Mission Haut-Brion 1982
A legendary Graves wine: power, smoky depth and Bordeaux nobility
Terroir
Château La Mission Haut-Brion is one of the most prestigious estates in Pessac-Léognan. Located opposite Château Haut-Brion, on deep gravel soils mixed with sand and clay, it produces wines of remarkable intensity, marked by structure, depth and the smoky signature typical of the finest Graves terroirs.
The 1982 vintage holds a major place in modern Bordeaux history. At La Mission Haut-Brion, it produced a wine of exceptional breadth, combining richness of texture, ripe fruit and tertiary complexity. Today, this bottle is aimed at lovers of mature great Bordeaux wines, capable of expressing power, patina and aromatic depth in equal measure.
Tasting notes
Nose:
The bouquet may reveal deep notes of ripe blackcurrant, black plum, tobacco, cedar, fine leather, graphite, spices and cold smoke. Bottle age brings nuances of undergrowth and truffle, while preserving the estate’s refined signature.
Palate & Finish:
The palate is broad, dense and deep, with melted tannins, imposing substance and excellent persistence. The finish lingers on evolved dark fruit, tobacco, spice, warm earth and smoky minerality, offering a majestic expression of mature great Graves wines.
