Dom Pérignon Vintage 2002 Luminous — Methuselah 6 L with Gift Box
The Dom Pérignon Vintage 2002 Luminous Methuselah 6 L with gift box is a spectacular large-format bottle of one of the most celebrated Champagne vintages of the modern era. Dom Pérignon is produced only as a vintage Champagne, and the 2002 release has become one of the house’s most admired expressions, combining richness, precision and remarkable ageing potential.
Presented here in the rare Methuselah format, equivalent to eight standard bottles, this Luminous edition carries an exceptional visual and collectible dimension. Large formats age more slowly and are particularly prized for prestige celebrations, private collections and memorable events. With its original gift box, this bottle is both a great Champagne and a striking presentation piece.
Terroir and blend
Dom Pérignon Vintage 2002 is made from the classic balance of Pinot Noir and Chardonnay. Pinot Noir gives structure, depth and breadth, while Chardonnay brings finesse, lift and the chalky precision that supports the wine’s long finish.
The 2002 vintage is widely regarded as one of Champagne’s great years, marked by excellent ripeness, balance and aromatic depth. In Dom Pérignon, this translates into a wine of opulence and energy, where mature fruit, fine autolytic notes and mineral tension remain beautifully integrated. In Methuselah, the slow evolution of the wine further enhances its rarity and long-term appeal.
Tasting notes
The colour is bright golden, with a fine and persistent stream of bubbles. The nose opens with fresh almond, preserved lemon, dried fruits and ripe orchard fruit, followed by deeper notes of toasted brioche, honey, hazelnut, smoky nuances and subtle spice.
On the palate, the wine is broad, creamy and highly expressive, yet still carried by an impressive line of freshness. The fruit is generous, with apricot, peach, citrus peel and warm pastry notes, while the finish remains long, chalky, saline and remarkably poised. The 2002 vintage combines maturity and vitality with rare harmony.
Fresh almond, preserved lemon, dried fruits, apricot, peach, honey, hazelnut, brioche, toasted notes, smoke, chalk and a delicate saline finish.
Expression of the 2002 vintage
Dom Pérignon 2002 is a vintage of generosity, amplitude and depth, but also of surprising freshness. The wine shows the opulence of a great ripe year, with mature fruit and creamy texture, while retaining the tension and precision expected from one of Champagne’s most iconic prestige cuvées. In Methuselah, this expression becomes even more impressive: slower ageing, greater visual impact and a very strong sense of occasion.
