Blanc d’Argile – Vouette & Sorbée ( R 20)
A flagship cuvée from Vouette & Sorbée, Blanc d’Argile embodies a precise, mineral and uncompromising vision of Champagne. More a terroir-driven wine than a simple sparkling expression, this Brut Nature stands out for its purity, chalky tension and understated elegance.
Terroir & Philosophy
Sourced from the Côte des Bar, this Champagne originates from clay-limestone soils with strong kimmeridgian influence, ideally suited to expressing the tension and salinity of Chardonnay. This geological foundation gives the wine its structure, depth and distinctive chalky character.
At Vouette & Sorbée, viticulture is carried out with exceptional rigor, following organic and biodynamic principles that prioritize soil life and fruit integrity. Winemaking is low-intervention, with native fermentations, barrel ageing and no dosage, allowing for the purest possible expression of terroir.
Blanc d’Argile is defined by a deeply distinctive style, where energy and precision take precedence over immediate charm. It is a Champagne of texture, structure and character, equally suited for gastronomy and contemplative tasting.
Tasting Notes
Nose:
The bouquet opens with notes of citrus, fresh apple and white flowers, followed by nuances of chalk, wet stone and a delicate saline touch.
Palate:
The attack is precise, vibrant and linear, followed by a broader, more textured mid-palate with a dense yet controlled structure. The balance between tension, texture and purity gives the wine remarkable presence and energy.
Finish:
Long, saline and intensely mineral, with lingering notes of citrus, chalk and white fruit. A focused and elegant finish that highlights the nobility of the terroir.
