Champagne “Terre de Vertus” 2012 – Larmandier-Bernier
A great terroir Champagne: chalky purity, mineral tension, and Chardonnay depth
Terroir
Sourced exclusively from the Premier Cru village of Vertus in the heart of the Côte des Blancs, the cuvée Terre de Vertus is produced from Chardonnay farmed according to biodynamic principles. The region’s iconic chalky soils lend the wine precision, a strong mineral identity, and excellent ageing potential. The highly acclaimed 2012 vintage, considered one of the finest of the decade in Champagne, delivers a wine of remarkable concentration, energy, and harmonious balance.
Tasting Notes
Nose:
Elegant and precise, the nose reveals aromas of ripe lemon, citrus zest, green apple, and pear, complemented by notes of white flowers, chalk, toasted bread, and subtle smoky and saline nuances.
Palate & Finish:
The palate is taut and finely chiselled, driven by a delicate, persistent mousse. The balance between texture and acidity is outstanding, delivering a sense of purity and verticality. The long, saline, chalk-driven finish unfolds with notes of citrus, minerality, and a refined noble bitterness. A gastronomic Champagne of depth, precision, and ageing potential.
