"The dark ruby/purple-colored 1997 Volnay Caillerets Ancienne Cuvee Carnot offers fresh blueberry and blackberry aromas. It is plump, soft, crammed with herb-tinged black fruits, and medium-to-full-bodied. Its fat, forward personality suggests a wine that will require early drinking, yet its copious quantities of supple tannin and well-delineated finish hint at the possibility of ageworthiness. "
