A Family Story Rooted in the Rhône

Established in 1973 by Aimé Sabon, Domaine de la Janasse is located in Courthézon, on some of the most prestigious soils of Châteauneuf-du-Pape. Today, the estate is run by Isabelle and Christophe Sabon, who combine tradition, precision, and innovation to craft world-class wines.

Exceptional Terroirs of Stones and Sand

The estate covers more than 90 hectares, including around 15 ha in Châteauneuf-du-Pape, with an impressive diversity of terroirs: rolled pebbles from La Crau, sandy soils from Chapouin, as well as limestone and sandstone parcels. This mosaic allows for meticulous parcel-by-parcel vinification.

Grenache Noir (some vines over 100 years old) is the dominant variety, complemented by Syrah, Mourvèdre, Cinsault, and a selection of white Rhône varieties. The estate is farmed sustainably and is currently in organic conversion.

Precision and Artisan Winemaking

• Manual harvesting and partial destemming depending on the vintage.
• Long macerations in concrete or stainless steel tanks.
• Tailored élevage: tanks for fruit purity, foudres and demi-muids for structure, minimal new oak.

• Red wines: powerful yet balanced by great freshness, silky tannins and floral lift.
