Located in the heart of the Bündner Herrschaft in Malans, Weingut Fromm is widely regarded as one of Switzerland’s most emblematic Pinot Noir producers. Founded in the 1960s by the Fromm family, the estate quickly earned international acclaim for its subtle, terroir-driven style — inspired by Burgundy yet unmistakably Grison. Since 2007, Huw and Martha Wilde have continued to refine this identity with meticulous precision.

Terroir & Location

The vineyards rise on sunny slopes along the upper Rhine valley. The dry Alpine climate, wide diurnal ranges, and complex soils enable slow and balanced ripening of the grapes.

Winemaking & Aging

A minimal-intervention philosophy aims to express purity of fruit and a clear sense of place.

• Spontaneous fermentations in wooden or stainless steel vats, with partial whole clusters
• Long aging in Burgundian barrels with very limited new oak
• Gravity racking, no fining, minimal filtration

The result: wines with fine texture, pure fruit, and a distinctive Alpine tension and balance.

House Style

Pinot Noirs with delicate texture, precise red fruit (raspberry, cherry, pomegranate), floral and stony notes, and a slender structure without excess weight. A Burgundian spirit with a distinct Alpine signature — fresh, luminous, and vibrant.
