Domaine Anne Gros — Purity and Precision in Vosne-Romanée
Domaine Anne Gros is among the most refined signatures of Vosne-Romanée and the Côte de Nuits. Daughter of François Gros, Anne Gros took over the management of the family domaine in 1988, inheriting several generations of winegrowers rooted in some of Burgundy’s finest terroirs.
In 1995, she officially began signing the wines under her own name, giving birth to Domaine Anne Gros. Across around 6.5 hectares, Anne Gros has built an exceptionally coherent body of work: wines that are precise, luminous and deeply attached to the expression of each climat, from regional Burgundy wines to the most prestigious Grand Crus.
A domaine of great precision, where Pinot Noir is expressed with purity, delicacy and depth. Anne Gros favours an artisanal, sensitive and rigorous approach, seeking not power but accuracy: limpid fruit, polished tannins, measured ageing, silky texture and a faithful expression of each lieu-dit.
Terroir: the great climats of Vosne-Romanée and the Côte de Nuits
The domaine is built on a prestigious mosaic of parcels, mainly located around Vosne-Romanée, with vines in regional, village and Grand Cru appellations. This structure, inherited from an exceptional family heritage, reveals several faces of the Côte de Nuits: the spicy sensuality of Vosne, the finesse of Chambolle, the depth of Vougeot and the rare nobility of Richebourg.
Clay-limestone soils, old vines and varied exposures give the wines their characteristic balance: restrained power, floral elegance, mineral intensity and a saline finish. Precise parcel work preserves the personality of each cru without imposing an excessive stylistic signature.
Terroir expression: Vosne-Romanée, Côte de Nuits, clay-limestone, Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, old vines, red fruits, fine spices, flowers, salinity and mineral tension.
Anne Gros signature: purity, precision, crystalline elegance, silky texture, delicate extraction, measured ageing and faithful interpretation of the climats.
Viticulture: precision and respect for soils
The domaine practises integrated viticulture, inspired by organic and biodynamic principles, without systematically seeking certification. Soil work is carried out with care, without chemical herbicides, using partial grass cover and pruning adapted to each climat in order to preserve the natural balance of the vine.
The vines are often old, many over half a century in age, with some historic parcels approaching or exceeding one hundred years. Harvesting is carried out exclusively by hand, with sorting both in the vineyard and in the cellar. This rigour allows the domaine to harvest healthy, precise grapes perfectly suited to delicate vinification.
Reds: red cherry, raspberry, ripe strawberry, delicate blackberry, fine cassis, peony, rose, violet and sweet spices.
Whites: lemon, pear, fresh apple, white flowers, almond, chalk, wet stone and saline freshness.
Evolution and terroir: noble forest floor, discreet truffle, fine leather, fine spices, melted tannins, limestone minerality and saline finish.
Overall impression: crystalline, precise and tactile wines, combining aromatic purity, textural finesse, natural freshness and great Burgundian elegance.
Vinification and ageing
Vinification is designed to reveal the personality of each cru. The Pinot Noir grapes are generally fully destemmed, then fermented in temperature-controlled tanks, with relatively short macerations in order to preserve fruit elegance and tannin finesse.
Reds: full destemming, fermentation in temperature-controlled tanks, delicate extraction and a search for polished tannins.
Whites: gentle pressing, fermentation in stainless steel, followed by barrel ageing to preserve tension and freshness.
Ageing: around 14 months, with the proportion of new oak adjusted according to each cuvée.
Philosophy: accompany the wine without oak make-up, preserving fruit purity and aromatic precision.
Wine style
The wines of Anne Gros are recognised for their crystalline elegance, aromatic precision and highly refined mouthfeel. The reds offer bright red and black fruits, silky texture, polished tannins and saline finishes.
The Grand Crus stand out for their refined concentration, depth and great ageing potential, while retaining remarkable finesse. The whites, especially Cuvée Marine, favour tension, floral freshness and subtle minerality in a straight, luminous register.
Emblematic cuvées and climats

Échezeaux Grand Cru “Les Loachausses”: a refined, spicy and silky expression, combining floral elegance, deep fruit and mineral persistence.
Vosne-Romanée “Les Barreaux”: a historic old-vine cuvée from the upper slopes of Vosne, producing a deep, spicy, upright and highly expressive wine.

Bourgogne Hautes-Côtes de Nuits Blanc “Cuvée Marine”: an upright, floral and mineral Chardonnay, driven by clear freshness and fine tension.
Philosophy: terroir over volume
Anne Gros refuses any race toward expansion. Her priority remains an intimate understanding of the parcels and the ability to let each lieu-dit speak. Delicate vinification, gentle extraction and precise ageing are all placed at the service of the wines’ natural balance.
This minimalist, exacting and deeply artisanal vision makes the domaine an essential reference in Vosne-Romanée. Each bottle seeks to convey the authenticity of the climat, the purity of the fruit and the tactile elegance that defines the finest Pinot Noir wines of Burgundy.
