Saffredi is the flagship wine of Fattoria Le Pupille, located in the heart of the Maremma, on the Tuscan coast. The estate is owned by Elisabetta Geppetti, a leading figure of modern Italian winemaking.

The vineyards benefit from a Mediterranean climate, cooling sea breezes and soils rich in clay and stones, ideal for Bordeaux varieties. The 2019 vintage is a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Petit Verdot. Grapes are hand-harvested, vinified parcel by parcel and aged in French oak barrels, resulting in a wine of great structure, precision and balance.

Tasting Notes

Nose:
Intense and complex, offering aromas of ripe black fruits (blackcurrant, blackberry), sweet spices, Mediterranean herbs, graphite and subtle toasted notes.

Palate:
Full-bodied and concentrated, with firm yet polished tannins, remarkable freshness and excellent depth. The structure is powerful but refined, showing great harmony and precision.

Finish:
Long, persistent and elegant, marked by dark fruit, spices and a mineral backbone, with outstanding ageing potential.
