Château Cheval Blanc 1994
This Château Cheval Blanc 1994 expresses the singular style of this great Saint-Émilion, combining the aromatic finesse of Cabernet Franc with the depth and roundness of Merlot. Now beautifully evolved, the wine shows structure, complexity and refinement, with dark fruit, floral notes, fine spices, blond tobacco and a still-present tannic frame.
A classic and refined Cheval Blanc, where aromatic elegance takes precedence over sheer power. The wine combines depth, freshness, tertiary complexity and Bordeaux structure, with a graceful, nuanced personality rather than an overtly demonstrative style.
Terroir: Saint-Émilion, gravel and clay at the edge of Pomerol
Château Cheval Blanc lies on a distinctive terroir at the boundary between Saint-Émilion and Pomerol, shaped by a mosaic of gravel, clay and deeper soils. This identity gives the wine its unique balance of freshness, aromatic finesse, structure and depth.
The 1994 vintage shows a serious and structured profile. With time, the fruit has evolved into notes of tobacco, truffle, fine herbs and undergrowth, while preserving the floral signature and upright character that define Cheval Blanc.
Tasting notes
