Château Troplong Mondot 2010
A substantial Saint-Émilion: power, depth and limestone nobility
Terroir
Château Troplong Mondot stands on one of the highest points of Saint-Émilion, on a clay-limestone terroir known for producing dense, deep and structured wines. This privileged position, combined with a strong presence of Merlot, gives the cru a generous, powerful and intensely expressive identity.
The 2010 vintage is one of Bordeaux’s great years, marked by full ripeness, remarkable freshness and a structure built for ageing. At Troplong Mondot, it produced a broad, deep and concentrated wine, where rich dark fruit is balanced by limestone tension and precise tannins.
Tasting notes
Nose:
The bouquet may reveal intense notes of blackberry, blackcurrant, black plum, liquorice, cocoa, graphite and gentle spices. With age, nuances of truffle, tobacco and undergrowth may add further complexity.
Palate & Finish:
The palate is dense, structured and deep, carried by generous substance, powerful yet precise tannins and freshness that balances the richness of the vintage. The finish lingers on dark fruit, liquorice, cocoa, spice and an elegant mineral imprint.
