Terroir & blend

Produced by the legendary Giuseppe Quintarelli estate in the heart of Valpolicella Classica, Rosso del Bepi comes from hillside vineyards around Negrar, in the province of Verona. These sites, defined by limestone-rich soils and excellent airflow, allow for slow, balanced ripening, essential to preserving aromatic finesse and natural freshness.

The wine is made from a blend dominated by Corvina and Rondinella, complemented by a small proportion of Cabernet Sauvignon. True to Quintarelli’s philosophy, winemaking is based on patience and minimal intervention, with slow fermentation followed by extended ageing in large oak casks, resulting in a wine of remarkable depth and complexity.

The 2016 vintage was outstanding in northern Italy. However, at Quintarelli, it did not lead to the production of Amarone. The fruit originally intended for Amarone was instead directed into Rosso del Bepi, giving the wine a level of concentration, structure and complexity comparable to the estate’s greatest expressions, while retaining freshness and drinkability.

Tasting notes

Nose:
Complex and captivating, revealing aromas of black cherry, plum and ripe red berries, alongside notes of tobacco, cocoa, sweet spices, incense and a subtle balsamic touch.

Palate:
Broad, velvety and perfectly balanced, with generous substance supported by vibrant freshness. The mid-palate reveals deep fruit, enhanced by nuances of dark chocolate, preserved cherry, spice and fine oak, in a remarkable balance between power and tension.

Finish:
Long, elegant and persistent, marked by noble tannins, energy and a gently spicy, lightly toasted signature. A singular and timeless Veneto wine, destined to evolve beautifully over many years.
