Château Simone Rouge 2022
A rare and timeless Provençal red, combining depth, complexity, and freshness, born from the unique Palette terroir and generations of family expertise.
Terroir & Winemaking
Château Simone, located in Meyreuil near Aix-en-Provence, is the flagship estate of the confidential Palette appellation. The vineyard lies within a protected natural amphitheater, on complex soils of limestone, rocky scree, and clay, ensuring drainage, freshness, and remarkable longevity in the wines.
The red is crafted from a traditional blend dominated by Grenache, complemented by Mourvèdre, Cinsault, and Syrah, along with rare Provençal varieties. Vinification includes long macerations to extract finesse and structure, followed by extended aging in large oak foudres and older barrels, allowing slow evolution without overt oak influence. The 2022 vintage, warm and luminous, offers ripeness, balance, and aromatic complexity.

Nose:
Complex and evolving, with black cherry, plum, and blackberry, layered with garrigue herbs, fine leather, sweet spices, and a subtle smoky note.
Palate:
Structured and harmonious, with ripe, silky tannins. The texture is ample yet lifted by remarkable freshness, bringing balance and elegance. Nuances of dark fruit, Mediterranean herbs, and forest floor unfold with finesse.
Finish:
Long and noble, marked by spice, garrigue, and persistent minerality. A cellar-worthy wine capable of aging gracefully for 15–25 years.
