Pinot noir Idig Spätburgunder GG 2018 - A. Christmann

"The 2018 Idig GG Spätburgunder from Sophie and Steffen Christmann opens with quite ripe and partly raisiny or jammy red fruit aromas, yet it's very elegant and refined on the nose. Silky textured, smooth and charmingly round on the palate, this is an intensely fruity and jammy Pinot with remarkably fine tannins and mineral freshness. For my personal tastes, the aroma profile is a bit too ripe, even though the finish is fresh and grippy. This is close to the border of becoming too rich and clumsy, but it's still on the right side. "
