"From a very shallow vineyard above the St Paul plot, Becker's 2014 Heydenreich Spätburgunder opens with a lovely bouquet that is aromatic, pure and elegant, with spicy flavors from the berry skins. Full-bodied, intense and very elegant on the palate, this is a silky textured but firmly structured, vital and tightly woven Pinot Noir with fine, peppery tannins and the fresh vitality of calcareous rocks. The finish is very long, and the wine really sings. This is a great Pinot Noir from a vintage that shouldn't be underrated for Pinot Noir."
