Pinot Noir 2020 “En Barberon” — A Deep, Energetic Jura Pinot with Burgundian Precision
Terroir
Sourced from Pinot Noir vines rooted in deep clay soils, “En Barberon” stands among the most characterful terroirs of the Arbois hillsides. The site’s natural freshness and soil density give the 2020 vintage a remarkable combination of power, verticality and precision.
Winemaking
The wine is vinified with whole clusters, enhancing aromatic complexity, structural tension and the vibrancy typical of cool-climate Jura sites.
This approach yields a Pinot Noir that is simultaneously pure, intense and finely sculpted, with a backbone reminiscent of top Burgundy.
Tasting Notes
Nose
Deep notes of black fruits (blackberry, black cherry) interwoven with fine spices, subtle herbal nuances and a delicate smoky touch.
Palate
A straight, tense, energetic mouthfeel marked by rare density for a Jura Pinot Noir. The texture is compact yet refined, carried by vibrant acidity and precise, firm tannins.
The finish is long, firm, mouthwatering and mineral — a profound 2020 vintage, echoing the tension and depth of fine Côte de Nuits.
