The Gevrey-Chambertin Mes Cinq Terroirs is a blend of five different parcels from around the village of Gevrey-Chambertin. The wine is fermented 30% whole-cluster and aged in 30% new oak.
This flagship cuvée is drawn from vineyards on the slope where the topsoil is clay, but the subsoil is pure, rocky limestone. All of this serves to give a wine of depth and weight, with a firm and chalky structure. In the 2021 vintage, there is also a wonderful floral perfume and a saline finish. This wine was made with 40% whole bunches, and aged in 10 – 15% new oak barrels.
