Domaine Ganevat – De Toute Beauté
A finely detailed Jura red crafted in a light, vibrant style—typically Gamay-led, yet not always a strict single-variety wine—combining bright fruit, lively freshness, and a silky, drink-me-now texture.
Terroir & Parcels
“De Toute Beauté” is sourced from parcels farmed by Domaine Ganevat in the southern Jura, largely around Rotalier, on Jurassic soils of clay mixed with marl and limestone scree. These limestone-rich terroirs bring a discreet mineral backbone, natural freshness, and a lifted, crunchy-fruited profile.
Depending on the vintage and the lots assembled, this cuvée is often built around Gamay but can be blended with other red varieties (commonly Pinot Noir, Poulsard, and/or Trousseau), consistent with its Vin de France designation and the domaine’s freedom to fine-tune balance and drinkability. Farming is organic/biodynamic in spirit; vinification favors whole clusters, indigenous yeasts, gentle maceration, and minimal extraction, followed by short aging in tank and/or older barrels, without fining or filtration to preserve purity.
Tasting Notes
Nose:
Bright and expressive, with fresh raspberry, red cherry, and red currant, lifted by floral nuances (peony/rose) and a subtle peppery-spice note.
Palate:
Supple and juicy, driven by vivid acidity and a silky, light-bodied frame. Crunchy red berry flavors mingle with gentle spice and a faint limestone edge that keeps the wine airy and refreshing.
Finish:
Fresh, appetizing, and delicately savory, lingering on red fruit, a touch of noble bitterness, and a subtle saline echo. Best served lightly chilled for maximum lift.
