Leclerc Briant Premier Cru Extra Brut – 2015 Harvest – Magnum
Leclerc Briant Premier Cru Extra Brut – 2015 Harvest in magnum offers a precise, vinous and gastronomic expression of Champagne. Made from a single harvest, disgorged in December 2022 and dosed at 4 g/l, it combines maturity, tension and aromatic purity with remarkable balance.
Presentation
Leclerc Briant, founded in Épernay in 1872, is one of the most distinctive names in contemporary Champagne. Known for its demanding viticultural approach, respect for living soils and precise vinifications, the house produces characterful champagnes marked by purity, energy and a strong gastronomic identity.
Leclerc Briant Premier Cru Extra Brut – 2015 Harvest is crafted from an assemblage of 70% Pinot Noir, 15% Pinot Meunier and 15% Chardonnay. The mention “2015 Harvest” refers to the year in which the grapes were picked, without making this bottle the official cuvée labelled “Millésime 2015”. This is therefore a Premier Cru Extra Brut from the 2015 harvest, presented in a refined, precise and deeply Champenois style.
Disgorged in December 2022 and dosed at 4 g/l, this champagne retains a dry, tense and elegant profile while showing attractive aromatic maturity. The magnum format further enhances its interest, allowing for slower, more harmonious and more complex evolution.
Leclerc Briant Premier Cru Extra Brut – 2015 Harvest – Magnum is aimed at lovers of precise extra-brut champagnes, enthusiasts of distinctive grower-minded houses and collectors seeking a gastronomic bottle that is mature, upright and refined.
Tasting Notes
Nose:
Elegant and expressive bouquet, showing yellow fruit, ripe apple, citrus, pear, fine brioche notes and a hint of hazelnut. With aeration, the wine gains complexity, revealing delicate toasted, floral and chalky nuances.
Palate:
Fresh, direct and energetic on the attack. Pinot Noir brings structure and a vinous backbone, Pinot Meunier adds roundness of fruit, while Chardonnay contributes tension and lift. The overall impression remains beautifully balanced, with fine bubbles, precise texture and a sense of purity reinforced by the low dosage.
Finish:
Long, dry and persistent, driven by citrus, yellow fruit, a refined noble bitterness and a saline finish. A refined and profound champagne for the table, ideal with seafood, fine fish, creamy poultry dishes or mature cheeses.
