It’s a shame that Thierry Glantenay only owns a very small plot in Les Saussilles, a cooler vineyard bordering Beaune. But what a plot it is! Very old vines with deep roots, yielding low quantities but extraordinary concentration and flavor.
From the first nose, it’s an explosion of aromas: ripe cherries, blackcurrant, game, dark chocolate, spices, and underbrush all compete for attention. On the palate, the wine is deep, structured, and elegant, supported by remarkably fine tannins and a mature, vibrant acidity. Each sip reveals a new dimension, combining power, complexity, and precision.
