Domaine Ostertag — Alsace, Emotion and Biodynamics

Founded in 1966 in Epfig, along the renowned Alsace Wine Route, Domaine Ostertag has achieved international recognition thanks to André Ostertag, a vigneron-poet and pioneer in biodynamics. Since 2018, his son Arthur Ostertag has continued the family legacy with sensitivity and innovation. Today, the estate covers 15 hectares of micro-parcels that reveal the deep diversity of Alsatian terroirs.

Biodynamic viticulture & elemental winemaking

Fully certified biodynamic (Demeter) since the late 1990s, the estate embraces an ecological and intuitive approach:

• Manual soil work & plant-based preparations
• Home-made compost & biodynamic applications
• Hand harvesting, controlled yields
• Native-yeast fermentations, minimal intervention, élevage in foudres, steel or barrel

Wines here are the result of a true encounter between soil, grower, vintage, and time—each cuvée a sincere expression of place.

Style of the wines

Ostertag wines are defined by their crystalline purity, vibrant energy, and a tension that often borders on the saline.

• Rieslings: taut, floral or smoky depending on the terroir; always sharp and elegant.
• Pinot family: refined, textured, expressive yet never heavy.
• Sélection de Grains Nobles (SGN): rich but airy, benchmark dessert wines of balance and grace.
