History

Domaine Henri Bonneau embodies a rare form of living tradition. This mythical and confidential estate was shaped for over fifty years by Henri Bonneau, a discreet, intuitive and fiercely independent vigneron. Without chasing trends or relying on technical formulas, he built one of the most distinctive and sought-after styles of the Rhône Valley. Since his passing in 2016, his son Marcel Bonneau has faithfully preserved this unique legacy.

Philosophy & winemaking

• 6.5 hectares of vineyards on iconic terroirs including La Crau and Grand Pierre.
• Varietals: Grenache dominant (≈90 %), with Mourvèdre, Counoise and Vaccarèse.
• Traditional, manual viticulture with very low yields (~10–12 hl/ha).
• Fermentation in open concrete vats, partial whole cluster depending on the vintage.
• Extended ageing in old foudres and demi-muids, often several years (up to 10 for some cuvées).
• Late bottling, minimal or no fining and filtration.

• Deep, ripe and spicy wines with a unique, supple texture.

Signature cuvées

All cuvées are produced in very small quantities and some are not made every year. The extended élevage is key to their unmistakable character.
