Domaine Bruno Clavelier – Precision and Elegance in Vosne-Romanée

Vosne-Romanée • Côte de Nuits • Burgundy, France — Clavelier Family

History

Based in Vosne-Romanée, Bruno Clavelier represents the fifth generation of his family’s winemaking heritage. A former rugby player and a trained oenologist, he took over the estate in 1987 and began bottling under his own name in 1988. Today, his wines are celebrated for their precision, purity and classic elegance.

Philosophy & winemaking

  • Certified organic since 2005 with biodynamic practices.
  • Very old vines (1930s–40s), naturally low yields.
  • Manual harvest, indigenous yeasts, fermentation in open oak vats.
  • Up to 30 % whole clusters depending on the cuvée.
  • 16–18 months ageing, 30 % new oak for top crus.
  • Often bottled without filtration.

Style & tasting

  • Remarkable aromatic purity, silky tannins and finesse.
  • Precise expression of Vosne-Romanée and Côte de Nuits terroirs.
  • Elegant balance between structure and refinement.
