Domaine Anne Gros — Purity and Precision in Vosne-Romanée
Six generations of excellence on Burgundy’s finest climats.
Daughter of François Gros, Anne Gros took over the family estate in 1988, continuing a legacy rooted in Vosne-Romanée. In 1995, she officially began bottling under her own name, creating Domaine Anne Gros — now among the most sought-after producers in Burgundy. The estate covers approximately 6.5 hectares around Vosne-Romanée and neighboring appellations. Through a sensitive, meticulous and artisanal approach, Anne has built a global reputation in less than three decades.
Exceptional Climats in the Heart of Vosne-Romanée
The estate is built on a prestigious mosaic of parcels, expressing with finesse and clarity the character of each lieu-dit.

- Clos Vougeot Grand Cru – “Le Grand Maupertui”

This inherited structure reflects the singularity of Vosne-Romanée: restrained power, floral elegance, and mineral intensity.
Viticulture: Precision and Respect for the Soil
The estate follows an integrated viticultural approach inspired by organic and biodynamic principles, without formal certification.
- Soil cultivation without chemical herbicides, partial grass cover
- Pruning adapted to each climat to preserve natural balance
- Old vines (often over 50 years old), some over a century
- Hand harvesting with careful sorting in the vineyard and at the winery
Anne Gros focuses on precision, aiming to express terroir in its purest form without unnecessary intervention.
Vinification and Aging
Winemaking is designed to reveal the personality of each cru.
- Pinot Noir fully destemmed, fermented in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks (10–20 days)
- Whites gently pressed, fermented in stainless steel then aged in barrels
- Average aging of 14 months, bottling in December
New oak proportions:
- Richebourg Grand Cru: 30%
- Échezeaux Grand Cru: 30%
- Chambolle-Musigny “Combe d’Orveau”: 30%
- Vosne-Romanée “Les Barreaux”: 50%
- Cuvée Marine (Hautes-Côtes Blanc): ~25% (500 L barrels)
This measured approach allows for precise aromatic expression without heavy oak influence.
Wine Style
- Reds: bright red and black fruits, polished tannins, silky texture, saline length
- Whites: tension, floral freshness, subtle minerality
- Grands Crus: structured, deep, and with excellent aging potential
Anne Gros’ wines are renowned for their crystalline elegance and aromatic precision.
Signature Cuvées
- Bourgogne Hautes-Côtes de Nuits Blanc “Cuvée Marine” — a mineral, precise Chardonnay
- Chambolle-Musigny “Combe d’Orveau” & Vosne-Romanée “Les Barreaux” — village-level finesse
- Échezeaux, Clos Vougeot & Richebourg Grands Crus — masterful, pure, and long-lived wines
Philosophy: Terroir over Volume
Anne Gros has always refused the race for expansion. Her ambition is simple: to let each lieu-dit speak for itself. Gentle vinification, soft extraction, and precise aging are designed to preserve balance and authenticity. Her minimalist, artisanal approach has made her an iconic figure in Vosne-Romanée.
